This picture is significant because Jan learned she had Leukemia June 10, 1994, the day Alister was born. This picture was taken of Jan and Alister when they first met. Jan passed away on February 19, 1997 from complications of a bone marrow transplant. Jan was the daughter of Robert Adrian McAlister and Emily Yarrington McAlister and the sister of Judy McAlister Lewis. Judy was the donor for the transplant.
