Emma Williams was the wife of James A. Lewis, the mother of C.A Lewis, L.F. (Gabe), J.V. (Jim), Charlie, Della, Maggie, Nance, Dovie, Rennie and Edward. |
Emma died from cancer of the eye in 1955 at 90 years of age . My only memory of her surrounds an incident when I conspired with others to grind a selection of Poplar tree leaves and mix it in with her pipe tobacco. Emma smoked a long stemmed cob pipe and when she lit that concoction she literally chased us down; she was 89 years old then.
