Burlon Lymoid Peters

Burlon Lymoid Peters, age 69, a resident of Dothan, died Friday, September 5, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.

Celebration of Life services will be held 11 a.m. Monday September 8, 2008 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverends Travis Free, Ricky Plummer and Greg Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2008.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 2855 Ross Clark Circle, Suite 110, Dothan, AL 36301.

Mr. Peters was born October 27, 1938 in Wicksburg, Alabama to Burlie and Louise Holton Peters. He was raised in Ashford and attended Ashford High School. Mr. Peters was self-employed as a Plumber and Electrician for several years in the Ashford community and later retired as a long haul truck driver for 39 years traveling from Coast to Coast. He was a member of Rehobeth Baptist Church.

Mr. Peters is preceded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Lymoid Peters; three brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Diana W. Peters, Dothan; son and daughter-in law, Jason and Shea Peters, Dothan; four grandchildren, Brandon, Corey, Emily and Makayla, all of Dothan; four brothers, J.D. Lewis (Verna), Ocala, FL, Charles Lewis, Blountstown, FL, Donell Lewis (Judy), Jackson, TN, Russell Lewis (Judy), Ashford, AL; four sisters, Ethel Shiver, Ashford, AL, Patsy Pipkin, Enterprise, AL, Diane Wilhite (Stanley) Leesburg, FL, Polly Tew (Phil), Jackson, MS; extended family, Greg and Cindy Smith, Jonathon, Zachary, Megan and Sara Grace Smith.
