RUPERT ODIS LEWIS
(March 31, 1921 - March 14, 2005)
It is with regret that we announce the home-going of Rupert O. Lewis, age 83, of Donalsonville, GA .
Rupert passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 17, 2005 at 3:00 PM at Oakview Church of God in
Donalsonville with Rev. Milton Pate and Rev. Mylan Brookins officiating. Visitation will be held
Wednesday, March 16, 2005 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville, GA.

Mr. Lewis was born in Dothan, AL on March 31, 1921 to the late Lonnie F. "Gabe" and Mahala "Haley"
Lewis. Rupert was a farmer, a passionate outdoorsman and a faithful member of the Oakview Church
of God for more than 57 years. He married Hazel Bernice Gay on August 31, 1940.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Anne and Ronn Miller of Donalsonville, GA and
Becky and Larry McMasters of Norfolk, VA; two sons, Levonne and Becky Lewis of Donalsonville, GA
and Rev. James Allen and Demaris Lewis of Savannah, GA; one brother Billy Wade and Mary Lou
Lewis of Donalsonville, GA. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, his parents and sister, Jewel Truett.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Lewis, Rushy Scott, Lamar Hicks, Larry Durden, Mike Adams, Dennis Gale,
Stephen Scott and J. L. Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Oakview Church of God Senior Adult
Sunday School Class.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest
Georgia, 1323 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, GA 39817.
