*(Mrs. J.B. Wright is Georgianna Elmira or (Almira) Yarrington)
*(the address would have been 2834 W. 1st St. Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY)
First a Wedding, Then a Christening, Followed by Feasting and Dancing.
_________________________________________________________
Wednesday evening last was an eventful one in the home of the J.B. Wrights in West First Street. The first and foremost of the events was the marriage of
Mr. Charles Yarrington, a brother to Mrs. Wright, to Miss Emily McConney, while the second was the christening of the son and heir of the William
Yarringtons, Master George Everett. Both ceremonies were officiated by the Rev. Lewis Happ, of the Protestant' Church.
The bride was attended by Miss Edna Wright, while Captain Barnard, an uncle of the bride, served as best man. She was attired in a hansome gown of pale blue crape de Paris, adorned with a heavy string of valuable pearls that for years have been an heirloom in the Yarrington family. The ceremonies over, the guests adjourned to the dining room, where a
collation prepared by the hostess was served, after which all present engaged in dancing and other diversions until the early morning. Among those present
were:
The Messrs. Hines and Lawrence McConney, Captain Barnard, Mr. and Mrs. J. Wright and the Misses Wright, Mr. James Yarrington, Mr. and Mrs. James
Yarrington, Jr., Mrs. N.C. Williams, Mrs. Kirkpatrick, Mr. and Mrs. John Durand, Mr. and Mrs. Mack, Mr. Joseph Yarrington, Mr. and Mrs. McKee and
Master McKee, Mr. and Mrs. W. Yarrington and family, and Mr. John Smith.
Subsequent to the collation several songs and stories, Miss E. Wright entertaining at the piano, while during the wedding ceremony Miss E. Durand
gave a clever rendition of the wedding march from "Lohengrin."
