[507] Notes taken from "Thomley Family Tree" by Maureen Thomley Bares
(1) Alma Laverne Turner and Harld Alva Harmon Sr were members of Emanual Baptist Church in anama City, Florida. (2) The (Turner, parents of Alma) family moved from Wicksburg, Alabama to Panama City, Florida (Millville) by train when Alma was 3 years old. (3) Harold Alva Harmon's father died when he was 13 years old leaving his mother with 4 small boys to raise alone. She never remarried. She took classes at Bob Jones College and earned a Teaching Certificate and taught at Millville School for several years, followed by one year at Cove Elementary School. (4) Harold Alva Harman got a job with International Paper Company and continued to work in the electrical department at IP until his retirement in 1975. (5) Harold Alva Harmon attended school in Bay County, Florida, where he was an excellent football player. After graduating high school 1 semester late he was encouraged to attend the University of Florida and play football, and some businessmen in Panma City, helped him financially to defray expenses, but he felt the need to stay home and work to help his mother (or was it Alma that meant more to him than football at the university).

[15] DENSON'S LANDING CEMETERY

Denson's Landing Cemetery, November 1999

Website http://www.tngenweb.org/records/perry/cemeteries/denson.htm

This cemetery is on the north side of embayment of Kentucky Lake into the lower reaches of Toms Creek, west of Pineview. The cemetery is well maintained. It is difficult to estimate the number of unmarked graves but the number could be considerable.

David Donahue recorded Denson's Landing Cemetery November 26, 1999 and updated in August 29, 2004. Mary (Stewart) Bowen and Melissa (Snyder) Bowen recorded the cemetery in the early 1990s. Their record appears in Mary Bowen's Perry County, Tennessee Cemetery Records (Vol. I). This earlier record is referred to as Bowen in the notes below.

McAlister, Sarah, Oct. 17, 1860-Nov. 3, 1900, "Wife of J. W. B. McAlister"
