Sabie Thomley Holton's Ob
Published in the pages of The Decatur Daily Decatur Ala Mar 31, 1975 (Sabie Etta Thomley Holton lived in Wicksburg, Alabama her entire life and passed away in a nursing home in Dothan, Alabama - why a Decatur, Alabama newspaper?)
Mrs. Sabie E. Holton, 82, Wicksburg, (Newton Rt. 1) died early this morning in a Dothan nursing home following a long illness.
Services will be Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. in the Ward-Wilson Funeral chapel with the Revs. Buddy Hood and Max McNab officiating. Burial will follow in Goodwater Cemetery, Wicksburg, Ala. The body will be at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of Mrs. Justine Jerkins, 100 Roberts St. Dothan Ala.
Mrs Holton was a native and lifelong resident of Houston County and was affiliated with the lunch room at Wicksburg school for several years. She was the widow of Sam Holton and was a member of the Goodwater Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Annie Mae Gilley, Wicksburg, Mrs. Mamie Glover, Newton Rt. 1, Mrs Louise Lewis, Ashfort Rt. 3, Mrs. Justine Jerkins, Dothan, Mrs. Velma Jones, Montgomery, Mrs. Doris Garrett, Greenville Ga, two sons, Haley Holton, Dothan and Joe Holton, Albany Ga.; one sister, Mrs Emma Holand, Wicksburg; 37 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren.
